# 2025
> Find all the latest changes we made 2025 to FMDB.
# Update for Q4 - Happy Holidays
As 2025 comes to an end, I would like to provide an update on everything that has happened in the last quarter. There was a lot, and not everything announced in the last report could be delivered.
While planning the API, I realized that more parts were needed. Why?
The features I wanted the API to provide were not yet available. However, this changed over the last couple of weeks as the building blocks slowly came together.
By 2026, the database will have matured into a platform that provides more soundtrack data and enables you to maintain your collection more easily.
There will also be a way for everyone to access the data via the previously announced API.
But first, here is a short list of all the things released in the past weeks:
## Poster and Description for Productions
For better discoverability productions now have a poster and a description.
## Filter releases by duration
You can now filter releases by minimum and maximum duration.
## Secure your account with a second factor (2FA)
You can now setup a second factor (2FA) to your user account for extra protection.
You can find the setting under [Settings → Security](https://www.fmdb.net/users/settings/security).
## User Collections & Wishlists
You can now build and manage your personal collection and wishlist! Track which releases you own and which ones you're hunting for.
**Add to Collection & Wishlist**: Every release now features dedicated buttons to add it to your Collection or Wishlist. The buttons provide instant feedback and prevent conflicts - a release can only be in one list at a time.
When adding to a collection you'll get a dialog for more information about the collectible.
**Privacy Controls**: Your lists are private by default. Visit your settings to toggle visibility for each list - share your collection publicly or keep it private.
You can manage the visibility and view your complete collection in [Settings → Lists](https://www.fmdb.net/users/settings/lists).

# Summer update and what comes next
Summer is over and during the last months most of the work was done "under the hood". All the stuff you do not see but which is still important.
## Notable changes
However, *some* of the changes you do see so let's break some of them down:
**Release Cards**: The layout for the release cards (seen above) has been changed. The whole card is now clickable while retaining the links
to artists and labels.
**User Accounts**: This was long in the making and launched quite a while ago without any announcement. You can now sign up for an account. The usefulness is currently
limited. When you find errors for releases, you can now report them.

## Roadmap for the rest of the year
2 features are currently in development and will be released until the end of the year:
### API (first wave)
The API allows you to access FMDB data programmatically. Once you are a signed-up user, you can generate an access token yourself, which is used for authentication.
OpenAPI documentation will also be available for all endpoints and explain how to use them.
In the first wave, basic entries like artists, productions, labels, and releases will be available endpoints.

### User Collection & Wish list
People in our niche are often collectors with hundreds of releases on their shelves. Having the right tools is essential for maintaining an organized collection.
The same is true for a wish list. See which releases you are missing. Move them to your collection once you have obtained them.
By default, your collection and wish list are private. You can choose when to make them publicly available — you remain in control.
The header section for a production contains tabs for better navigation. You can jump straight to releases, recordings
or episodes if the production is a television series.
Recordings are now browsable for all. You can see all credits for each recording. There is also a indicator if the
recording is a re-recording.
You can now filter for decade and year for search results.
The display of credits in a release has been updated. Additional credits are now separated from the
recording credits.
